How It Works

A quick explanation of how race results, driver classes, points, standings, profiles, and awards are handled.

TL;DR

Quick Version

Race results are imported from iRacing result files, reviewed by league admins, split into driver classes, scored by class, and then published to public standings once finalized.

Race Results
Imported

Results come from iRacing data and are reviewed before becoming official.

Standings
By Class

Drivers score points inside their class, not only by overall finishing position.

Driver Profiles
Tracked

Each driver can have results, stats, trophies, and season history.

Race Results

Source Data

Race results are imported from official iRacing result data. After a race is imported, admins can review the race, drivers, classes, points, and result status before it affects the public standings.

Provisional races may be visible, but only finalized and points-eligible races are counted toward official standings.

Provisional = Reviewable Final = Official Points Eligible = Counts

Driver Classes

AM / PRO

Drivers are assigned to classes per series or season. A driver can be AM in one series and PRO in another, depending on how that league season is structured.

iRating can be used as a starting point, but league admin classification is the final authority. Some drivers may be placed higher or lower based on league decisions, known pace, participation history, or season-specific rules.

Points and Standings

Scoring

Points are calculated by class. That means the top AM driver receives first-place AM points even if several PRO drivers finished ahead overall.

Some seasons may include bonus points, penalties, or drop races depending on league rules. When enabled, those values are tracked separately so the final total can be reviewed clearly.

Point Type Meaning
Base Points from finishing position in class.
Bonus Extra points from league-approved bonus rules.
Penalty Adjustments from steward/admin review.
Total Final points applied to the race result.

Driver Profiles

Stats

Driver profiles collect a driver's race results, series history, current available iRacing profile details, and performance stats in one place.

Current driver info, like iRating or license, may update as new race data is imported. Past race results remain historical and are not rewritten just because a driver's current iRating or license changes later.

Trophies and Awards

Recognition

Trophies and awards highlight notable driver accomplishments, including podiums, clean races, class results, and special league-recognized achievements.

Some awards are generated from finalized race data. Others may be added manually by admins for special recognition, media, or league storytelling. Championship-style awards should only appear once a season is complete.

Race Control

Public pages are designed to make results easy to browse, but league admins control what becomes official. If something looks wrong, it may still be provisional, under review, or awaiting classification/points updates.

Final standings are based on finalized, points-eligible races and admin-approved class assignments. When in doubt, race control wins. Obviously. Otherwise the robots get ideas.
